What I collect

• Nickname — chosen by you.
• Learning progress — lessons, scores, and completion state.
• Purchase status — whether you’re on the free tier, wrds+, or wrds Pro (from App Store receipts) so the app can unlock features.
• Sign in with Apple — Apple’s private relay identifier if you use it for authentication.
• AI synonym checker input (wrds Pro only) — the text you ask the AI to check. See “Apple Intelligence processing” below.
• Support — anything you email me for troubleshooting.

How I use your data

• Run the app (show lessons, track progress, lock/unlock content).
• Verify and restore purchases via Apple.
• Provide the AI synonym checker for wrds Pro users.
• Reply to support emails.

I do not use your data for advertising, third-party analytics, or marketing.

Where data is stored

• On your device — most app data lives locally.
• iCloud / CloudKit (optional) — if enabled on your device, your progress and related app data sync via Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit so you can use it across devices. You control iCloud in iOS Settings.
• App Store systems — purchases and receipts are handled by Apple; the app queries Apple to confirm your subscription.

Apple Intelligence processing (wrds Pro)

wrds Pro includes an AI synonym checker that uses Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models). Your synonym input is processed to generate suggestions. Depending on your device/OS, processing happens on-device and/or via Apple’s secure infrastructure. I do not receive your synonym inputs or outputs on my servers.

• What is sent — only the text you choose to check (wrds Pro feature).
• What is stored — I do not store synonym inputs or results on my servers; they remain in app memory on your device.
• Opt-out — don’t use the AI checker or choose wrds+ (which unlocks lessons without AI).

Account deletion

You can delete your account and data from within the app at any time (“Delete my account”). This permanently removes your nickname and learning progress from iCloud/CloudKit and clears local data on the device.

Your rights

• Delete your data permanently using the in-app delete option.
• Withdraw consent by uninstalling the app and/or deleting your account.

Security

I use industry-standard measures and rely on Apple’s security for App Store purchases, iCloud/CloudKit, and Apple Intelligence processing. No method is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy. Material changes will be posted in the app or on this website. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
